Mike Sperou, “Confessor” — suffering for Christ; temporarily imprisoned.
While imprisoned for his faith, Mike continues to send ncBc letters of encouragement. Another letter from October 2016 is included here. The topic is “real tests, fiery trials, grace under fire.”

May the LORD bless you and keep you; and may the LORD shine upon you, and be gracious to you — may He lift up His countenance on you, and give you peace …
Real tests are difficult tests, for what takes more spiritual strength and courage than having to persevere through such trials — and remain obedient.
At such times we demonstrate the authenticity of our faith before angels and men, and how firmly our souls are seated in heavenly places — an opportunity to attain a better resurrection.
Our God has personal reasons for allowing such fiery trials, and they can never be unnecessary or arbitrary — there is a clear link between present suffering and future glory.
A caterpillar morphs into a butterfly through the cocoon process, victory arises from defeat, and life emerges from death — fearlessness is good for the soul.
The battle is psychological and reason, in its fallen state, is always out to falsify faith at such times as these — to move us to unbelief and despair.
Only the well pruned vine bears the best fruit …
Grace under fire,
