To all those I love with my life!
. . . a few thoughts from the Abyss:
“You have heard the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful, Jas 5.11” — clearly the righteous innocent do suffer the greatest injustices, but my times are in His hand and the Lord will fulfill His purpose for me/us.
Remember, nothing we said or did or failed to do is responsible for this horror — it is an attack of Satan, but allowed by the Lord for some greater purpose —
- The conspiracy,
- The surprise arrest,
- The false witnesses,
- The unjust nature of the trial and verdict, and
- The outrageous sentence;
… i.e., “reflect on Jesus’ trial”
Insisting on knowing why only leads to frustration and resentment — His answers are often beyond our understanding anyway, and the answer probably would not be enough to help us fix this: our trust needs to be in the One behind the Scripture, and our situation is in His hands and we can trust Him; i.e., “there are sufficient reasons for trusting Him without demanding explanations” . . .
